MommieMix Self Care Challenge
Hi Everyone!
Welcome to the New Year and the 5th year of the MommieMix blog! Every January, I like to address my followers in a video blog to talk about the year and review and discuss thoughts for the year going forward.
2020 was one of the most challenging years for everyone, but especially moms. The toll the pandemic has taken on ALL women has been tremendous. It honestly feels like the last year was a blur with the stress, anxiety, virtual learning, kids, work life balance, etc. etc. If we thought we were stretched thin before, the pandemic has created a new level of chaos and uncertainty.
My message this year is one of self care. I am challenging each and every one of you to do at least one thing for yourself a week. Yes, on paper it seems doable, but I look back on what we just lived through, and I can tell you that I didn’t do anything for myself weekly. That’s why I decided to start the MommieMix Self Care Challenge. Each week, I’d like for you to journal AT LEAST one thing you did for yourself. I’ll periodically check in with you throughout the year to make sure you’re on track.
I decided that I would commit to acupuncture weekly. This is no small feat. I have to organize childcare, schedules, nap time, etc., but I know I need to do this for myself. I am keeping a journal of what I do for myself, and I am excited to track what I am doing through the year. The thing with resolutions is that by the end of January, most people give up. That’s why I am proposing a challenge to all of you!
